Halo: MCC Crashing on Your PC? Here's a Potential Fix.

As of today (November 17, 2020), Halo 4 was released on Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC! Unfortunately, though, I was plagued with an issue where the game would instantly crash right after the title screen. After looking around, it looks like the issue is caused by EasyAntiCheat somehow breaking, so this article will detail how to fix EasyAntiCheat for Halo: MCC.

EasyAntiCheat is usually installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat, so head to that directory on your computer and run EasyAntiCheat.exe.

EasyAntiCheat with Halo: The Master Chief Collection selected.

Once EasyAntiCheat opens, select Halo: The Master Chief Collection from the dropdown menu, then select either Repair Service (if the service was detected on your computer) or Install Service (if the service was not detected on your computer).

Once that's done, you should be able to launch Halo: The Master Chief Collection again and be able to go beyond the title menu. Enjoy the game!

Repair Service Didn't Work?

I had an issue where the Repair Service button didn't work for me, so I did a verify of my game files on Steam. To do that, open Steam and right-click Halo: The Master Chief Collection, then select Properties.

The properties box for Halo: The Master Chief Collection in Steam with Local Files selected.

Click on the Local Files tab, then select Verify Integrity of Games Files.... Once that's complete, then try to repair EasyAntiCheat using the above method.
